- Wenger is tipping Patrick Vieira to manage Arsenal in the nearest future
- Viera inspired Arsenal to three EPL titles and three FA Cups during his nine-year stint
- He is now managing Ligue 1 side Nice after coaching New York City in MLS
Arsene Wenger believes Patrick Vieira has the required credentials to manage Arsenal in the future.
The 42-year-old former Gunners captain inspired the Premier League side to three EPL titles, and three FA Cups in his nine-year stint at north London.
The Frenchman turned to coaching after retiring from active football, starting with City's reserves in 2013.
Three years later, he was appointed manager of New York City and coached them for 90 games, but switched to Ligue 1 campaigners, Nice, in 2018.
Currently, Nice are eighth on the Ligue 1 log and many feel he is heading for greater heights in his coaching career, with Wenger insisting his ex-captain is bound to assume managerial role at Arsenal someday.
“I see him as the Arsenal coach one day because I think he is too young to go directly into international football," Wenger was quoted as saying to Canal Football Club.
“He left when he was young, he went to New York, he is now in Nice and he has taken time to mature and learn his profession," he added.
