Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Tuesday on Tuesday called Ilhan Omar over a tweet made by President Donald Trump targeting the Minnesota Democrat over her 9/11 remarks.
According to the Washington Post, Dorsey explained to Omar on phone as to why the tech giant was standing behind its decision not to remove Trump’s tweet.
Sources told the Post that Dorsey explained to Rep. Omar that the tweet did not violate the company’s rules.
A furious Omar is said to have demanded stringent measures considering that death threats following the president’s tweet had spiked.
On April 12, Trump criticised Omar's remarks to the Council on American-Islamic Relations via a video which contrasted her description of the 9/11 terror attacks.
Her 'some people did something' piece was, however, plucked out of context from her speech to the Council on Islamophobia.
