Gor Mahia striker Dennis Oliech will miss the rest of the season after he fractured his left wrist during a SportPesa Premier league fixture against Western Stima on Sunday.

K’Ogalo coach Hassan Oktay confirmed to People Sport that the forward will be out for up to two months following a collision with opposing defender Joseph Mukisa as the two scuffled for an aerial ball in Sunday’s barren draw at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium.

“The doctors say the injury is worse than initially thought and therefore we shall miss the player for the remaining seven games of the season,” bemoaned Oktay who has a number of injured players in his squad.

On the national front, the all all-time Kenya top scorer might have just seen his slim hopes of donning the Harambee Stars jersey for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations go up in smoke.

Oliech had expressed his desire to play for Stars again but that will have to wait longer. “I feel good and fit. If I get a call up, I will not refuse,” the forward told a local daily last week.
