The government targets to have half a million affordable housing units constructed across the country by the year 2022.
Under the plan, each county government is expected to facilitate construction of at least 10,000 affordable housing units.

Hinga says the aim of the affordable housing programme is to enable Kenyans to own homes at an affordable rate payable over a period of 25 years.
