Aden Duale shelves gender Bill as quorum hitch hits vote

National Assembly Majority Leader Duale wants vote on the Gender Bill deferred to 2019 after the House failed to raise the numbers to pass it.

Mr Duale Made the request to Speaker Justin Muturi during debate on Wednesday afternoon.

He said the House did not 233 members required to vote in support of the bill.

At the beginning of the debate, 212 members were in the chambers.

A few minutes into the debate, the number dropped to 207.
