Harambee Stars coach, Sebastien Migne, is confident his men are ready to tackle Congolese counterpart Florent Imbenge's squad in Madrid.
“We are well prepared. Everything is okay and we are on the way,” said coach Migne.
This as he also confirmed the unavailability of defender Musa Mohamed, but expressed optimism that Musa will be fit in time for AFCON, and that he has enough depth to plug in the void.
Migne will likely opt for Zesco United defender David Owino as replacement while also using this last game to test alternative strategies to apply before heading to Cairo on June 19.
“We will not risk fielding Musa (Mohammed) and Brian (Mandela, who has been ruled out of the tournament) because our priority is on our match against Algeria. In his absence we have an opportunity to see what other players can offer,” he added.
Migne's safety first approach may however prove tricky as he will be up against the best of Congolese talent including Everton's Yannick Bolasie and Tp Mazembe forward Tresor Mputu among others.
Kenya's first game will be up against Algeria on June 23 at the 30,000 setare 30 June Stadiuim in Cairo.
