TUKO.co.ke looks at several of these players whose injuries cost their clubs big time but their return is set to make the race for Champions League places more interesting.

Liverpool

Goalkeeper Alisson had a hip injury which kept him off the Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid but the Brasilian looks fit and ready to go again.

Liverpool also confirmed there were no fresh injury concerns, meaning Jurgen Klopp has an array of players at his disposal to choose from.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola will also have a full fit squad to choose from as his injury concerns were fizzled out by the lengthy lockdown period.

Aymeric Laporte (hamstring) and Leroy Sane (knee) regained fitness and might be in contention to start against Arsenal on Wednesday.

Chelsea

Going into the lockdown period, Chelsea were in top form having just knocked out Liverpool from the FA Cup and beaten Everton in thrilling fashion in the Premier League.

There were however growing concerns as several key players suffered injuries including N’golo Kante (groin) and Tammy Abraham, who was out for weeks with an ankle problem.

However, all this is in the past, as majority of first team players including Callum Hudson-Odoi (hamstring) and Mateo Kovacic (Achilles), and Lampard has a strong squad at his disposal.

Manchester United

The most notable absentees from Solskjaer’s squad in the wake of the pandemic were Marcus Rashford(back), Paul Pogba (ankle).

Both these players are back from injury as well as Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Harry Maguire (ankle), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (back) and Diogo Dalot (unspecified).

Arsenal

Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns and Arteta also has quite the squad to choose from.

Lucas Torreira, who had a serious ankle injury in March, resumed light training but is not quite match-fit.

Tottenham Hotspur

Jose Mourinho’s men were in a torrid run of form in the build up to lock down and this was largely because of major injury concerns.

Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn have all made recoveries from their respective injuries, although they may not necessarily be match fit for the coming game against Manchester United.
