Bandari will have a one week pre-season camp in South Africa as part of their CAF Confederations Cup preparations.

Bandari clinched the ticket to the continental championships on Sunday after dispatching holders Kariobangi Sharks 3-1 at Kasarani.

According to team head coach Bernard Mwalala, the team’s sponsor Kenya Ports Authority through it Managing Director Daniel Manduku promised to take the team to the southern country.

“We thank our sponsors who have promised us a trip to South Africa where we will play international friendlies as we focus on the Confederations Cup,” said Mwalala.

Mwalala also said there will be a few changes in his squad as they prepare for their second continental appearance after bagging the domestic crown.

According to the former Harambee Stars player who coached Nzoia Sugar before docking at Bandari, the team will bolster its rank by going for young blood rather than established names.

Bandari may also lose some of its key players with up to seven talents linked to different clubs across the continent.

“We will sign at least a defender, midfielder and a striker because around seven players are in talks with other clubs and on the verge of transfers, which is good,” he explained in an interview on Monday.

Among those said to be on their way out are shot stopper Farouk Shikhalo who is heading to Tanzania side Young Africans while Bandari captain Felly Mulumba who was on trial with Zanaco of Zambia may also exit the dockyard.

Meanwhile, the dockers have already secured the signature of former Congo Boys keeper Matano Abdallah.
