– Man United are willing to offer him a 12-month extension

– Mata has scored four goals and registered two assists this season for Man United

Barcelona are plotting a move for Juan Mata and could land him for free in the summer following his contract dispute at Man United.

The 30-year-old’s contract at United runs out in the summer but the club is willing to offer him a 12-month extension, against a 2-year deal Mata wants.

It is believed Barcelona are monitoring the situation and could make a move for Mata in the summer if he does not resolve his contract dispute with the Red Devils.

According to a UK Sun report, Barcelona have opened negotiations by contacting Mata’s father and agent Juan Sr.

The Spanish giants see Mata as good transfer option especially with the possibility of landing him for free.

Mata who was a £37.1million signing from Chelsea in 2014 has registered four goals and two assists this season.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Barcelona have made Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford, a major summer transfer target.

The Spanish side is in the market for a new striker who will replace ageing Luis Suarez.

According to a report by the UK Metro citing sources at Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have now listed Rashford in their 3-man shortlist to replace the Uruguayan.
