Kenya’s world marathon record holder, Brigid Kosgei has been named among 11 nominees for the 2019 IAAF Female of the year award.

“The IAAF is pleased to confirm a list of 11 nominees for Female World Athlete of the Year who were selected by an international panel of athletics experts, comprising representatives from all six continental areas of the IAAF,” IAAF said.

Brigid made history on Sunday, setting a new World record of 2 hours 14 minutes and 04 seconds to win the Chicago Marathon.
