Chapecoense plane crash survivor Rafael Henzel has been reported dead after suffering a heart attack during a football game.

The 45-year-old Brazilian journalist was said to have collapsed during the game and died shortly after he was taken to the hospital on Tuesday, March 26.

Henzel was one of the six survivors of the Chapecoense plane disaster that crashed in Colombia with 77 passengers on board including 19 Chapecoense players

After making full recovery from the crash, Henzel was said to have returned to his job as a radio journalist.

However, two years after the crash, he became the 72nd on the manifest to pass away according to SunSport.

Throughout his brilliant career, Rafael told the story of Chapecoense,” the Chapecó club said in a tribute on its website (in Portuguese).

He was a symbol of the club’s reconstruction and he will always be remembered in the green and white pages of this institution,” the club added.
