Monday, January 14, 2019- Over the weekend, Makena Murungi, the daughter of Meru County governor, Kiraitu Murungi, walked down the aisle in a glamorous ceremony graced by President Uhuru among other top shots.

Uhuru made a grand entrance to the venue of the wedding in Ngong Racecourse in his official chopper. DP Ruto was also in attendance to witness Makena exchange vows with the love of her life James Bukusi. The President also took the opportunity to encourage the youth to embrace inter-marriages among various communities. “May the journey of your marriage be characterized by love, trust and hope. Kenya will become a more cohesive, secure and prosperous nation when our young people start accepting one another without using tribe or religion as a consideration,” the president said.
