Chelsea are eyeing a summer move for embattled Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho as replacement for departing Eden Hazard.

Hazard is expected to join Real Madrid in the summer with new Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane making the Belgian his prime target this season.

Chelsea have placed a £100million price tag for Hazard and have already begun looking at potential replacements for their most priced asset.

According to French media outfit Telefoot, Coutinho has been tipped by Chelsea to be their next playmaker.

The 26-year star has been unable to justify his £146million move from Premier League side Liverpool in January 2018.

He was booed by the fans when he came in as a substitute against Real Sociedad and celebrated his goal against Manchester United last week by cupping his ears.

Barcelona are open to selling Coutinho in the summer but they want to recover in excess of £100m.

But if a move for the Brazil international fails to materialise, Chelsea are also considering a deal for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

The talented 23-year-old has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool, Manchester United and Everton.
