President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed the Director of Public Prosecutions,
Noordin Haji, to prosecute Deputy Chief Justice, Philomena Mwilu, for abusing
him during a public function.
In a letter he wrote to
Noordin, Uhuru said he has a recording of Mwilu abusing him badly before she
went on to nullify his presidential win on September 1st, 2017.
Uhuru told the DPP that
he was infuriated by a recording which was shared with him,
in which the Deputy Chief Justice was caught saying that “huyu mlevi hafai kurudi kama rais”
just before she nullified his win.
A
State House source said Uhuru was incensed by Mwilu’s choice of words and he
vowed to ensure that she is removed from office once he assumed his second term.
Mwilu
is currently facing a jail term after she was linked to the collapse of
Imperial Bank of Kenya and other cases of corruption and money laundering.
