His visit will put to bed questions that were beginning to emerge on whether the DP would reach out to Moi's family based on the hostile history he has with them.

Quite notably, the DP actually made his way to Jonathan's home to condole with the family whereas Uhuru was in Kabarak on Monday, April 22.
It is not clear why Ruto did not go to Kabarak where Uhuru initially paid a visit, although his history with the retired President's last born Gideon might have played factor.
Prior to the visit, Ruto had passed out his condolences on his social media where he described the late Jonathan as a "sociable, affable a treasured family man"
