Diamond unasikia? Bahati sets conditions for working with Wasafi CEO

Bahati recently spoke to Presenter Ali during the relaunch of his EMB Records label. The ‘Man of God’ was asked about working with Tanzanian bongo artiste Diamond Platnumz, as he had already worked with other citizens from the country.

He replied:

He is my friend, lakini mafans wetu huwa hawafurahii tukijimix sana.

He also spoke about wanting to do music with fellow gospel musicians like Kirk Franklin and Nigerian artiste, Sinach. He, however, does not rule out doing a song with Diamond but he has one caveat:

I just wanna represent the church more but ikitokea we do something that can praise God, it´s okay. Aside from that…

Bahati has previously worked on collabos with Tanzanian artists; Mbosso and Rayvanny both signed under Wasafi Record Label but is yet to work with the Wasafi King, Diamond.

Thing is, I don’t see this materializing as DIamond is an avowed Muslim while Bahati professes the Christian faith. Which God will they sing about?

In the USA, gospel musician Kirk Franklin was attacked for doing a song with Kanye West, a secular artiste who professes that he believes in the same God Kirk does.

If that collaboration was attacked, I shudder to think about how a Bahati and Diamond song would be received.
