Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has reportedly gone to China for specialist treatment on a recurring injury.

Dalot is yet to feature for United this season, with a hip problem keeping him on the sidelines for the better part of the new campaign.

According to a UK Mirror report, the Portuguese player resolved to seek treatment at Chinese club Shanghai SIPG to get to the bottom of his injury problems.

The pursuit has seen him visit Shanghai's sports injury expert, Eduardo Santos, who has been dubbed a 'miracle doctor.'

Santos is said to have helped Arsenal defender David Luiz recover from a hamstring tear back in 2015 while in France where the physiotherapist earned his nickname.

Dalot arrived China on Thursday, August 29, and put through a 10-day treatment ahead of his imminent return to action.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has since confirmed the youngster could make a comeback after the current international break.

Dalot signed for the Old Trafford dwellers last summer, with former manager Jose Mourinho describing him as "the best young full-back in Europe" upon his arrival.

He would however make just six appearances under Mourinho, before featuring 17 ties under his Solskjaer after the Portuguese tactician was sacked last December.

Meanwhile, there were suggestions Dalot would leave this summer following the signing of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Solskjaer decided to retain him owing to his ability to play in advanced wide positions.
