Wednesday January 9, 2019-Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s sister, Ruth Odinga, on Monday rebuked a former aide to ODM leader after he allegedly tried to block Ida Odinga’s handshake to an ODM politician.

Idris Abdulrahman, who had served as Raila’s adviser when he was the prime minister, allegedly tried to block Kwale ODM Vice Chairman, Nicholas Zani, from meeting Ida Odinga during the celebration to mark Raila’s 74^th birthday. Ruth reportedly lost her temper as she scolded Idris to the utter surprise of those in attendance. “He was going to greet Ida but Abdulrahman blocked him.” “Ruth Odinga was not amused and had to rebuke the man,” a source said. However, Zani dismissed the incident as a mere misunderstanding, explaining that he has been friends with Abdulrahman. “He is a good friend of mine and we get along well.” “I don’t know what got into him yesterday.” “But it was a small insignificant thing,” remarked Zani. “I don’t get involved in those petty things, boss.” “Those are petty things I don’t get involved in,” he continued.
