Manchester United defender Ashley Young is back on the scene after a fake Tweet announcing the Englishman as Real MAdrid's latest signing went viral.

The tweet had many fooled at first glance and immediately went viral reaching over 10000 retweets and 20,000 likes in no time.

Twitter user @RealMadridCFi posted a rather comical but impressively well-executed photoshopped image of Young, that completely resembled Eden Hazard's recent announcing.

The fake tweet had many football fans initially confused and trying to figure out why real Madrid would sign Young after a rather poor season.

It was not long ago that some United fans on Twitter were calling for the immediate replacement of Young, following their Champions League defeat against Barcelona that ended 1-0 at home.

The 33-year-old was a shadow at Old Trafford and was unable to hold possession or advance any attack on the flanks with United simply unable to create clear cut chances.

He had the lowest pass accuracy in the team with 73.3%, did not win any aerial balls and lost possession more than 30 times against Barcelona.

Opta statistics further broke down the number of crosses Young took to 11, with none of them finding a single United player.

It was the first time since 2009, that United were unable to register a shot on target during a Champions League home game.

Barcelona then hammered Manchester United 3-0 at Nou Camp to send the English side out of the European competition.

They will now participate in the Europa League in the 2019/20 season with Young possibly set to feature after extending his with the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane continue his pursuit of Frenchman Paul Pogba who looks likely to really be the next 'Comunicado Oficial' — the two words that signal a major contract deal in Real.

"It could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else," said the Frenchman while on tour with the Red Devils in Asia.

TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Pogba would prefer to return to Juventus instead of moving to Real Madrid this summer.
