The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union-KMPDU has  called  on the government to fast-track provision of personal protective gears to health workers  to safeguard  them against the Coronavirus.

KMDPU Nyanza branch Secretary General, Dr. Lameck Omweri also petitioned both the national and county governments to utilize funds earmarked for fighting coronavirus to urgently recruit adequate doctors and medical staff.

Speaking in Kisii town, Omweri while lamenting over the current health workers working conditions, said personal protective equipment should not be an option for health service providers during this Coronavirus period.

Parliament, ministry of health  and county public service boards have also been challenged to streamline the sector by addressing constraints facing it.
