DAILY POST: Finally UHURU orders arrest of NGUMI, SANG, BOINETT, ITAYASON and SIMU over KPCscandal where billions have stolen 03:45 Thursday November 29, 2018-President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered the arrest of Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) senior managers who are involved in a multi billion scandal.
On Wednesday, Uhuru met Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti, who briefed him on the investigations that started last month. Uhuru in particular was concerned over how KPC Managers stole over Sh 1.7 billion during the construction of Kisumu Oil jetty. The corporation contracted South Engineering Company to build the jetty that was meant to facilitate the transportation of oil through Lake Victoria to Uganda and Tanzania. However according to Kinoti senior officials stole millions during the construction of the jetty. “You will see action soon. We are doing well in the investigations where Kenyans might have lost money through dubious deals,” Kinoti told journalists on Thursday. Those who will be arrested includes KPC chairman Mr John Ngumi, MD Joe Sang, the chairman of the board technical committee, Major (retired) Neepe Itayason, a former chairperson of the board finance committee, Faith Boinnet, and a former chairman of the board audit committee, Jerry Simu. Others are the finance and infrastructure managers.
