- Lyon have announced the dismissal of Silvinho as club boss
- The Brazilian's assistant Gerald Baticle has since taken charge on interim capacity
- The French side currently sit 14th on the Ligue 1 standings
French Ligue 1 giants Lyon have axed Brazilian Silvinho Mendes Campos Júnior after a poor run of form into the 2019/20 season.
Lyon have picked just one win in nine matches in all competitions, leaving Silvinho under immense pressure.
The dip in form is however understood not to have been the only cause for his sacking, with Goal.com reporting the tactician's unattractive brand of football was a pain to watch among fans.
Lyon are currently sitting 14th on the log with nine points, all thanks to three draws and four defeats.
Silvinho's last match at the helm was Sunday, October 6, during his side's 1-0 defeat away to local rivals Saint-Etienne.
But in complete contrast, Lyon have fared better on the continental stage, garnering four points from two matches to occupy second place in Group G.

Meanwhile, the 45-year-old made his bow in football management after retiring as a footballer in 2011.
He went on to work under Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan as an assistant manager, before moving working with the Brazil national team.
Sylvinho was then appointed Lyon in May, taking over from Bruno Genesio.
