Governor Kingi to revoke licenses for bars admitting minors

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has threatened to revoke licenses of bar owners admitting minors in their clubs.

Kingi said will not hesitate to take action on the culprits, attributed the phenomenon to the increased teenage pregnancies in the region.

Speaking during the launch of the Kilifi County Adolescents and Young Person’s Sexual Reproductive Health Rights and HIV strategy 2019 to 2022, the Kilifi Governor warned that his enforcement officers and security personnel will begin conducting impromptu visits to local bars and palm wine dens.

“The war against teenage pregnancy will not succeed if all stakeholders are not involved, as a government we are committed to succeed,’’ Kingi said.
