Football Kenya Federation unveiled the new jerseys for the national team Harambee Stars ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament set to kick off on June 21 in Cairo, Egypt.

The designs lack creativity and the colour scheme of the five sets seem deprived of uniformity just seven days to the biennial event, after several months of waiting on the unveiling.

Captain Victor Wanyama donned a full red set with a white turn-up V-shaped neckline while the custodian put on a dull black with screening green strips on both shoulders.

The neckline colour for the home team is the same colour as the main custodians away uniform.

Ayub Timbe wore a full dark-green jersey matched with green and white striped stockings, arguably the most attractive uniform among the three.

Striker Michael Olunga also appeared in the strange unveiling but with a completely different set of uniforms.

The Kashiwa Reysol striker had plain white stockings, a white shirt and white jersey with a single red line strip on both shoulders.

A closer look at Olunga's shirt however, shows that the designers opted not to use the V-neck design which is really the only shred of creative effort put in place.

The uniform is manufactured by Macron, the official shirt sponsors for the national team-Harambee Stars.

Stars is sponsored to a tune of KSh 250 million by the exchequer besides cash from the betting firm Betin and CAF.

Kenya will play the last friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Madrid, Spain on Saturday, June 15.

The team will then leave for Cairo on June 19 for the finals.
