Is this an apology? Burna Boy explains why he did not appreciate what Coachella did to his name

Burna Boy upset many people yesterday.

The list of artistes performing in the annual Coachella festival in the US was released and Africans were pretty excited that Burna Boy and Mr. Eazi were in the line-up.

The two heavy African performers have been listed among other international acts set to perform at the Coachella between April 12th to 21st, 2019.

Well despite all our excitement, Burna Boy took to social media with a rant, as usual, saying he does not like the fact that his name is in a very small font.

He wrote:

@coachella I appreciate you. but i do not appreciate the way my name is written, so small in your bill. i am an african giant and will not be reduced to whatever that tiny writing means. fix things quick please

Burna Boy has since then received a lot of backlash on social media from people all over. Americans have no chills and they have blasted him.

Burna Boy has since responded in an apology saying he is grateful to the Coachella team but Africans need to learn to appreciate themselves and that is why he complained about the font of his name.

i represent a whole generation of solid African creatives going global. not the soft, low esteem Africans with the slave mentality. i will grant an interview soon to make myself understood. nothing i say comes from any place of pride or any  sense of entitlement it comes from my vision of the future of African not just African music

This is not the first time Burna Boy has taken to social media with a rant. Last time he referred to Kenyans as peasants – something that got him in trouble with KOT –  forcing him to apologize later on.

Let’s just wait for the interview and hear what more he has to say.
