Inayat Kassam is a name that will be in many Kenyan lips for a very long time. This is after the selfless man was pictured risking his life even without a protective gear to rescue the people trapped at the 14 Riverside drive Dusit hotel following Tuesday terror attack.
Believed to be an experienced combative and shooting instructor, Inayat, armed with just a gun, he was one of the first responders at the terror scene where gunmen stormed minutes after 3PM.
Not forgetting Inayat, was also pictured among the civilians saving people trapped during the 2013 Westgate terror attack.
Kenyans have taken to social media to praise his heroism and unselfish act.
Among them is TV presenter and his friend, Jeff Koinange who called him a ‘true hero’ on his Twitter feed.
Koinange’s twitter post read:

ODM director of communications, Philip Etale also echoed Koinange’s sentiment calling for Inayat Kassam to be recognized and be awarded with a Head of State Commendation.
He said; This man Inayat Kassam deserves a State Commendation.
Radio presenter Talia Oyando posted a picture showing Inayat at Westgate in 2013 and at 14 Riverside on January 15th rescuing civilians
Her post read: “Trust me, Its not your day today mama not today my sister, today you’re not dying”…. Thank you ?? #Inayatkassam
