Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi's hopes of kicking off his tenure on a flying start were dashed on Sunday, September 8, after Uganda Cranes forcing Kenya to a 1-1 draw at Kasarani.
Kimanzi was named new Stars head coach in August, replacing Frenchman Sebastien Migne who was shown the door after recording a series of poor results.
The Sunday encounter dubbed the Migingo derby therefore saw the former Mathare United boss named a relatively strong side for the tie, despite missing the services of key players, including Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama.
In the absence of Wanyama, Japan-based striker Michael Olunga was handed the armband, with Kennedy Muguna and Ayub Timbe leading the attackline.
The new look Stars however failed to impress, as the visitors dominated the opening exchanges of the friendly clash.
