Kenya’s assistant referee Mary Njoroge will be among the match officials running the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup match pitting Japan against Scotland Friday at the Roazhon Park in Rennes, France.
The match will be Njoroge’s first at the finals as she becomes the second in the list of Kenyan match officials to have officiated at a FIFA World Cup.
By getting this appointment, Njoroge joins Aden Marwa as the only Kenyan match officials to have done duty at the biggest competitions in the World.
Marwa was among the match officials at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
