The third edition of the Sportpesa tournament is currently underway in Tanzania with four teams representing Kenya.
The week long tournament will see the eight teams battling for an opportunity to play the English Premier League side Everton
AFC Leopard’s defender Robison Kamura has said “we are well prepared for the matches ahead of us, as we have been training and we are fresh from playing the Kenyan premier League which is currently ongoing.”
Adding that the team has learned from the mistakes they made during the previous tournament
Leopards were the first Kenyan team to arrive in Tanzania ahead of the tournament, in which they were eliminated in the quarter finals last year.
Bandari Fc who finished last season on a high note last year having won the Sportpesa Super Cup and are currently unbeaten in the Kenyan Premier League have debut in the tournament
Bandari’s head coach Bernard Mwalala said that they would take each game autonomously. “We are going to take each game at a time having spent much time training”
“Having played for Yanga Fc in Tanzania I am in a better position to develop good tactics since I am familiar with their game” added Mwalala.
Kenya is being represented by Gor Mahia, Fc Leopards, Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks
