Kenya’s team for the World Cross Country Championships jet out tonight aboard Emirates flight EK 722 at 2245 hrs for Aarhus, Denmark ahead of the global championships slated for Saturday.
The squad of 31 athletes led by head coach David Letting has been in boot camp for the last one month at Kigari Teachers Training College in Embu to prepare for the event and will be seeking to defend both the senior men and women titles as well as the mixed relay accolade while also aiming to reclaim the junior titles.
At the 2017 event held in Kampala, Uganda Kenya bagged 12 medals out of a possible 27 and will be aiming to better this record.
The David Letting led squad will however face stern test from East African counterparts Ethiopia as well as the first rising Uganda. Also, in the mix is the USA whose team is predominantly made of athletes of Kenyan origin.
