A school in Kisumu East constituency has been closed after bees invaded it on Monday.

Area Director of Education Stanley Shitanda told the Star that Ogango Primary School has been closed briefly for spraying.

Shitanda said three children were injured after being stung by the bees.

He said they were taken to a local dispensary where they were treated and discharged.

"The school will be sprayed as we monitor the situation. Most probably the pupils might report back tomorrow," he said.

Pupils scampered for safety during 9am incident.

The bees are said to have come from one of the trees within the school compound.
