In a report by Citizen Tv, among other items that Kavali was caught with included a skull, undergarments for women and human hair that were wrapped together.
Residents who were baying for his blood narrated how they naively trusted and believed the church elder's powers to exorcise evil spirits in their homes.
However, it turned out it has been his habit of going to homes and planting the items then approach the family members with a proposal to pray for them and relieve them evil spirits that have held them in a cycle of poverty and distress.

Innocent faithfuls, hungry for blessings would easily fall into his trap and thorough exorcism and prayers are performed before he would dig out the items claiming he had been led to the spot by the holy spirit.
"He came to my house and told me he wanted to pray for me but I will only pay a little offering for the prayers," said Jemima Muthemi, the victim.
He would then get paid heavily for the services delivered to the congregants who in turn believe their doors for blessings have been opened.

"He has been one of our most respected church elder and we always listen to him at our church because we believe he is among the most prayerful and faithful people we have and he even comes second to pastor in our church hierarchy,"said Justus Kakoma, a church elder.
The suspect was rescued by the area chief David Chumbo and allowed to dress before he was driven away to the police station.
