A Government parastatal has banned Alvindo’s viral song, Taka Taka, claiming “the song was not submitted to Kenya Film Classification Board for examination and classification and contravenes Section 12 (2) of the Films and Stage Plays Act CAP 222.”

Adding, “Broadcasting, exhibition, distribution (including online) or possession of the song ‘Takataka’ by Alvin aka Alvindo is a criminal offense.”

The watchdog added, “The song ‘Takataka’ by Alvin aka Alvindo should not be performed live or broadcast anywhere within the Republic of Kenya. No DJ should play the song either on broadcast station or in entertainment joints.”

Now this Takataka song will be played by everyone. Like the way there's no one who hasn't watched Wolf of Walstreet.

@EzekielMutua you are so petty. Banning the song Takataka three months after its release shows that you are only doing it for PR. Did it take you three months to interpret Swahili lyrics? I don't think so.

That takataka song was itself takataka.

A parently their're lots of Takataka to be burned from our oudio & visual media platform, our politicians contribute Tonnes of the same.

Which raises the question: Who should be regulating music?#TakaTaka

Government bans Taka Taka song by Alvindo after Ivy Wangeci’s murder

The problem with Kenya bans come immediately after something negative has happened. Takataka song was released long ago why didn't they ban it after it's release? It's time we stop acting hypocritically and face the reality as it comes. #KFCBbansTakataka is stupid!

If we were to do everything we see and hear on TV, then we would ban so many programs and songs, we would even ban news. We should start having a decent conversation about what is happening in our country especially on matters love. #StopKillingForLove Takataka #TuesdayThoughts pic.twitter.com/tx0GTldFvD

The day I saw Churchill show promote “takataka song” I knew something’s very wrong with Kenyan media. #PressPass pic.twitter.com/lXt45mD6cH

Women must be respected and such music like Takataka that demean them should not have airtime. Thank you @EzekielMutua @InfoKfcb for banning it. #KFCBbansTakaTaka Let's #BalanceforBetter . We can do better.
