- Fred has been named as the worst ever signing to play at Old Trafford by Man United fans
- The 26-year-old was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk by Jose Mourinho for £52million in 2018
- Fred was criticized by the Red Devils' faithfuls for his poor performance in the defeat at Newcastle
Fred has been labeled by Manchester United supporters as their worst signing in history following the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.
The Red Devils' faithfuls took to social media to vent their anger and frustration on the Brazilian midfielder.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed the midfielder a starting place place in his squad, replacing injured Jesse Lingard.
But the 26-year-old failed to make an impact as United suffered their third defeat of the season at St. James' Park thanks to a 72nd minute strike from Matthew Longstaff.
One posted: "Fred is the worst signing in Premier League history, it's not even debatable."
Another added: "Fred, based on his transfer fee has got to be the worst signing in Man United's recent history. Approx £52m and we get to see a performance worthy of half that fee."
A third said: "Fred is the worst signing in United history. Unbelievable how we paid more than £50 million for him. He's utterly hopeless."
While a fourth concluded: "£52m for Fred has to be the worst signing in Premier League history. I'm sorry but he offers absolutely nothing, genuinely gives me hope I could still make it."
