– Harry Maguire is set to become the highest paid defender if he joins Manchester United

– The Leicester City forward has been targeted by the Old Trafford outfit since last season

– Manchester United will reportedly cough out a whopping £90million for his services

Harry Maguire has being slapped with a staggering world record £90million price tag by Premier League side, Leicester City.

Manchester United have made several attempts in signing the England center-back last summer, and have been linked with another bid.

However, Daily Star claim Old Trafford chiefs would have to break the record fee Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk to land the services of Maguire.

The 26-year-old is still under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2023 after signing a new deal in September.

And the Foxes are under no pressure to sell the central defender meaning they can name a price.

Football pundit, Shaka Hislop reckons Maguire would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford.

The ESPN pundit said: “I think he’d be a hit. I liked this link when it first cropped up, what, 12 months ago.”

“I continue to like it even though I will say that Solskjaer’s gotten a lot better return out of the centre-halves that he has at his disposal now. But I think Maguire continues to grow in confidence and stature in the English game,” he added.

Meanwhile, TUKO.co.ke had earlier reported that Ryan Giggs witnessed the tense rivalry between Manchester United and Arsenal during his 14-year spell in the Premier League.

Giggs was part of the iconic class of ’92 that brought success at United under former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

The current coach of the Welsh national team has revealed he disliked three Arsenal stars including Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires and Denis Bergkamp.
