NYS II thieves want the High Court to bar President UHURU from commenting on the cases! He is trying to force Judges to send us to jail

Thursday November 22, 2018 – Looters of money from the National Youth Service (NYS) have moved to court requesting orders to bar politicians from commenting on their cases.

Through their lawyer, Assa Nyakundi, the suspects, who are alleged to have stolen Sh 226 million from NYS, want Anti Corruption Magistrate, Douglas Ogoti, to issue orders banning politicians from commenting on the case.

“It is this court that is trying the suspects…not the politicians,” Nyakundi said, “stop public discussions of this case since they defeat the right to fair trial.”

Citing political interference, the lawyer said the court should be allowed to arrive at a decision on the matter before it without undue influence by politicians.

Last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was speaking at a NYS recruit pass out parade in Gilgil said that NYS looters must be punished and forced to return stolen cash.

Uhuru also said the Government will do everything within its powers to ensure the monies are recovered.

“We will do everything in our power to ensure that the culpable pay the price and return the stolen resources.”

The thieves of the money include former Youth PS Lillian Omollo and former NYS Director General Richard Ndubai.
