The ODM candidate who saw the nullification of Mawathe's victory in the Supreme had garnered only 1,901 votes by that time.
In what seemed an irreversible contest, the outspoken ODM candidate who was succeeded by Mawathe said he was ready to work with the latter and help him fulfill his agenda.
The Embakasi South by-election was a typical show of sibling rivalry as ODM and Wiper were all components of National Super Alliance (NASA).

Raila Odinga, ODM party leader, campaigned for Sumra while Wiper's leader Kalonzo Musyoka drummed support for Mawathe.
As at 9pm Sumra had gotten 421 votes from 13 polling stations while Mawathe was far ahead with 1,083 votes.
The constituency has 221 polling stations and 150, 314 registered voters according to IEBC.
Since the polling stations were opened at 6am on Friday, April 5, voter turnout was significantly low in the contest that had 15 contestants.
Mawathe who voted at 10am at Imara Daima and Sumra who cast his vote at 11.am at Mukuru Educational Centre had accused each other of voter bribery and other elections' malpractices.
