Man United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has declared he will carry the blame for the club's 1-0 shocking defeat to struggling Newcastle United.

United were looking to return to winning ways after recording a series of poor results in recent weeks.

But despite dominating proceedings through the match at St James Park on Sunday, October 6, the Red Devils fell to a second half strike by Matthew Longstaff.

Longstaff, who was making his Premier League debut rounded up David De Gea in the 72nd minute to break the deadlock, with his solitary goal the only difference between the two sides.

Speaking in his post match interview, Solskjaer insisted he would shoulder the blame for his side's woeful display, revealing his young guns lack confidence.

"It’s my responsibility. I need to sort their heads out. Young boys lacking confidence – they need some help from experienced players and staff," he said.
"They’re human and they want to do well. They need to see the results of their hard work and we’re not getting those results so that’s going to affect them," he further submitted.

Meanwhile, the result now leaves the Norwegian tactician under immense pressure as the Manchester outfit now sit 13th on the standings with just nine points from eight matches.
