According to reports reaching TUKO.co.ke, angry passengers on board the 14-seater matatu KCL 740 B registered under Lina SACCO took it upon themselves to actuallt stop the vehicle because of reckless driving.
They then proceeded to frisk the conductor out of the vehicle , with the driver involved in an altercation with another male passenger.
In the video, one passenger can distinctly be heard reiterating, “We warned him. We warned him.”
The commotion stirred up traffic along the busy highway, with motorists forced to slow down as the incident took place right in the middle of the road.
Incidentally, the dramatic quelling of the driver and his deputy took place on the same day when 10 people perished in separate road accidents, all involving public service vehicles.
Statistically, it has been found that 14-seater units are the ones most prone to casualties in the event of fatal accidents, with very little chances of survivors.

As far as matatu crew are concerned, they have been forced to adhere to the strict traffic rules by none other than their own clients, particularly in recent weeks.
In March, another video went viral showing a lady, who had refused to compromise her seat to facilitate excess passengers, being ejected by a matatu crew.
The video has since gone viral and the matatu has been brought to book.
