Wednesday January 9, 2019-As the debate on whether or not Deputy President William Ruto should vie for the Presidency rages on, Siaya Senator James Orengo has joined those calling for his retirement.

Speaking yesterday, Orengo concurred with former Jubilee Vice Chairman, David Murathe, saying that Ruto was automatically bound to cease from seeking the Presidency in 2022 given that he has already served his two terms in office. He asked Ruto to retire alongside President Uhuru Kenyatta when his term ends in 2022 and let other visionary leaders take over the power. "I want to tell Ruto not to be misled by selfish political interests and retire with Uhuru in 2022,” Orengo said. According to Orengo, Ruto was not qualified to contest the Presidency having served as the Deputy President for two terms.
