The Supreme Court has upheld the election of governors Dr Alfred Mutua of Machakos county, Salim Mvurya of Kwale county, and Martin Nyaga Wambora of Embu county.
Governor Mutua’s election had been nullified by the appellate court following a petition by his rival, former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti.
Ms Ndeti had convinced the Court of Appeal that the Machakos governorship results were manipulated to favor her competitor.
However, the apex court ruled Friday that the Appeal Court erred in nullifying Mutua’s victory.
