Suspended AFC Leopards’ organising secretary Timothy Lilumbi maintains he is innocent over hooliganism charges.
He is set to appear before the KPL Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee Friday.
Lilumbi was implicated in the chaos that rocked the league match between Leopards and Nzoia Sugar at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The match which ended 1-1 on Sunday, turned chaotic after the final whistle when Ingwe fans assaulted match officials who they accused of biased officiating.
On Wednesday, the KPL disciplinary committee summoned Lilumbi and other club officials, to answer to the assault claims.
Lilumbi was suspended on Thursday and barred from transacting business on behalf of the club until the case is determined.
AFC Leopards chairman Dan Mule said the club has launched its own investigations. If found guilty, the offence attracts a heavy fine and the club is likely to be deducted points.
“The club is against hooliganism. We will fully cooperate with all football stakeholders to fight the vice," the club said in a statement.
Lilumbi, however, vowed to defend his name. He is optimistic he will win the case.
“I have been in football for more than 27 years and I have a good discipline record. I did not hit any official as alleged and I am sure I will win this case," he said.
