A section of Eastleigh residents have slammed the move by the government to lock down Eastleigh estate saying it was not a better decision to deal with the spread of COVID-19 considering the economic effect.
According to Eastleigh Residents Association chairman David Odhiambo the containment measure was ill-advised now that those who live from hand to mouth can not be provided for by the government.
‘‘We don’t support this lockdown because the same government can not feed us,we have so many hustlers who carry loads in Eastleigh so that they can earn a living …tunaonewa sana na serikali ,’’ he said.
Meanwhile other people have also taken issues with the government over the map of Eastleigh. There are numerous complains from Bahati,Majengo,Pangani and Ziwani.
‘‘We managed to move out today ,my job place is at Pangani but the problem is how i shall go back home , my families are there and for now everywhere is closed.. the government should come clear and state boundaries.’’ A resident lamented.
