Kiambu County Government says it intends to dispose of 160 unclaimed bodies from Thika Level 5 hospital mortuary.
In a statement, Thika level 5 hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Jesse Ngugi, said the facility is experiencing constraints in terms of space, cost of power and daily management.
Dr. Ngugi added that hospital management has initiated the disposal process and engaged various stakeholders as well as tracing the next of kin.
He added that the bodies were brought to the facility on various dates by the police officers and some bodies have been lying in the funeral homes as early as September 2016.
