Three people died on Tuesday morning when a matatu collided with a canter on the Nairobi–Mombasa highway.
Six others were rushed to the hospital after the morning accident that occurred around Simba area.
Makueni County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim said occurred after a Lorry rammed into a 14 seater matatu from behind.
The injured were rushed to Makindu hospital for treatment while the deceased were moved to the mortuary in the same facility.
