The growth of e-commerce services has been remarkable for the past couple of years. The likes of Jumia, which partners with hundreds of local and international vendors, has paved way, directly or otherwise, for competing products that aim to make a cut for a demographic that loves to shop online. Perhaps, these services become more appealing and apparent toward the festive season thanks to multiple deals. It should also be noted that telco Safaricom joined the race with Masoko, and so did retail chain Naivas sometime in 2017.
Another large-scale retailer, Tuskys, has announced the launch of the same product tomorrow (Wednesday). The details of the launch have not been discussed, but the retailer says that its approach will incorporate the services of Amazon that have proved successful in the USA, among other markets across the globe.
The Wednesday launch will see the reveal of more details pertaining to the operations of the product. For the moment, Tuskys says it will introduce a split payment system, which means that a customer will be able to pay for a product using multiple cards (in case one card does not have sufficient funds). The retailer says payments to suppliers will be reflected promptly as the product/service passes through the bill.
