He said they wrote to Kenya’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) and Military Intelligence (MI) warning them of a possible Al Shabaab terror attack during the Christmas holiday or after the New Year. However, a Kenya’s NIS official admitted receiving the intelligence but said the Somali based ragtag confused security officials by changing target locations. “We were on high alert from November last year but the Dusit D2 hotel attack caught us off guard. We should have acted more on the information given by US and UK governments,” the NIS officer said. France has also said its intelligence had warned Kenya government of a terror attack after the Christmas holiday.
