Vetting of Court of Appeal Judges enters day four

Those interviewed were Justice Florence Muchemi , Justice Francis Tuiyott, Dr. John Chebii and Joyce Majiwa at JSC Secretariat for the position of Court of Appeal Judge. The interviewing panel was chaired by Chief Justice David Maraga.

The interviews for the judges seeking to be hired in the court of appeal entered day four on Thursday with Senior Counsel Dr. John Chebii pledging to change the image of the judiciary and improve the communication within the courts.

Chebii a Dean at the Moi University Law School and an Advocate of the high court promised to improve the communications department of the judiciary and better public participation and cordial relationship with Kenyans.

His sentiments coming at a time when the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is grappling with numerous petitions against several judges and magistrates.

Others who faced the interviewing panel included advocate Joyce Majiwa, Justices Francis Tuiyott and Florence Muchemi. Tuiyot on his part promised to conform with the judicial transformations and strategic plan.

Advocate Majiwa assured the Maraga led Judicial Service Commission of expeditious and efficient disposal of court matters to avoid backlog of cases.

On Wednesday the Judicial Service Commission interviewed Mr Kariuki Mwangi, Justices George Odunga, Stephen Radido and John Mutungi.

The interviews being conducted at the JSC secretariat will resume on Monday Next week.
