- Zlatan Ibrahimovic is favoured to turn things around at Man United
- Club legend Blackmore believes Ibramhimovic's current goalscoring form will help Rashford and Greenwood continue their development
- Man United have managed to score just nine goals in eight matches in the Premier League so far
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been tipped by former Manchester United star Clayton Blackmore to solve their goalscoring problems.
The Swedish striker has been making waves in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with LA Galaxy since he left Old Trafford in March 2018.
United have only managed to score nine goals in eight Premier League matches this season, their worst ever tally in 30 years.
The poor run of results now leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side sitting 12th position on the log with just nine points.
Blackmore now believes re-signing Ibrahimovic would help Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood continue their development.
“We’re lacking a target man and the only thing that is going to save us this season is Ibrahimovic," the former footballer was quoted saying.
“He’s still scoring goals, too. We have got rid of so many good strikers - (Wayne) Rooney went, (Robin) van Persie went, loads of them. These players have gone but they haven’t been replaced. Bringing Ibrahimovic in is a no-brainer," he added.
