Aviation Industry to tackle its challenges at AFRAA General Assembly




The African Airlines Association (AFRAA), Royal Air Maroc will host the 50th Annual General Assembly in Rabat from 25-27 November, 2018.

Themed Strengthening African aviation in a liberalized environmentthe assembly will gather CEO’s of African airlines, top executives from aviation in Africa and internationally along with partners including African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Arab Air Carriers Association, among others for high level industry discussions.

“It is with great pleasure that we will convene for the 50th Annual General Assembly (AGA) which also coincides with AFRAA’s 50th anniversary, a historic milestone for African Aviation. We are indeed proud of the great strides achieved in this sector and of our support to African Airlines over the years in creating an enabling environment for the development of a prosperous industry,” said Abdérahmane Berthé, AFRAA’s Secretary General ahead of the summit.

He added that the AGA is the perfect platform to crystallize a common vision for the future as it brings together more stakeholders and principal decision-makers in the aviation industry than any other aviation event in Africa.

At the occasion of the 50th AGA, AFRAA and other stakeholders will launch the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) handbook.

The handbook will serve as an important industry reference point, which has been published through joint efforts by industry stakeholders to make the SAATM fully operational.

AFRAA continues its collaborative efforts towards the successful realization of the SAATM with the aim of achieving the far-sighted vision of a Single African Air Transport Market that will help spur the development of African aviation.

The spectrum of deliberations at the AGA will focus on issues of concern to the industry’s development including implementation of the SAATM, disruptive innovation, customer experience among other key concerns in the air industry.
